Nintendo Wants Us to Believe that Mario and Peach Are Just Friends?

(Who’s that dude high-fiving Peach?!?)

After nearly four decades of rescuing Princess Peach from castles, lava pits, and the occasional angry turtle, you’d think Mario might have secured something more than a polite thank-you. But according to Nintendo, it turns out the Mushroom Kingdom’s most eligible bachelor is firmly friend-zoned.

A recent update on the Nintendo Today app casually clarified the pair’s relationship, saying, “Princess Peach and Mario are good friends and help each other out whenever they can.” That’s it. Not “lovers.” Not “power couple.” Just . . . good friends. Which might be the most brutal plot twist in video game history.

This revelation comes as a bit of a surprise to longtime fans, given Nintendo has frequently hinted—or outright suggested—that Mario and Peach were an item.

Over the years, they’ve shared romantic moments in everything from cutscenes to end-of-game hugs. But this new statement hits like a blue shell in the final lap. Not even “good friends with benefits”? Apparently not.

Nintendo didn’t explain why they decided to clarify the characters’ dynamic now, but it’s hard not to read between the lines. Maybe they’re trying to reframe the characters in a more modern, independent light. Maybe they’re teasing a future story development. Or maybe they just want to finally settle the decades-old debate once and for all.

Naturally, the internet has feelings. The announcement triggered waves of disbelief, confusion, and memes.

One fan wrote, “Mario’s been risking his life for 40 years and all he got was a pat on the back??” Another joked, “Peach: I see you as a brother.”

Still, despite the heartbreak, this may be an opportunity for Mario to move on—maybe go karting with Rosalina, or finally take a vacation that doesn’t end with kidnapping. Meanwhile, fans will be left wondering what else they’ve been misled about in the Nintendo universe. Are Luigi and Daisy even a thing? Is Bowser just misunderstood?

No word yet if Mario has updated his relationship status on Facebook, but something tells us it’s complicated.

Are These the 50 Best Superhero Movies of All Time?

Are you planning on seeing Fantastic Four: First Steps? Because it opens TODAY! Which got us thinking, what are the best superhero movies of all time?

The new Superman movie, which came out on July 8th, is already flying high — at least when it comes to superhero rankings.

It has already landed on a fresh list of the 50 Best Superhero Movies of All Time, securing the #26 spot. Not bad for a movie that audiences are just starting to see. Whether it climbs higher in the years to come (or plummets faster than a speeding bullet) remains to be seen, but for now, it’s rubbing capes with some all-time greats.

So what did make the top of the list? Here’s a look at the Top 20 Superhero Movies according to the new ranking — and yes, nostalgia plays a big role:

  1. Superman: The Movie (1978)
  2. The Dark Knight (2008)
  3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
  4. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
  5. Avengers: Endgame (2019)
  6. Batman (1989)
  7. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
  8. Captain America: Civil War (2016)
  9. The Avengers (2012)
  10. Black Panther (2018)
  11. The Incredibles (2004)
  12. Spider-Man 2 (2004)
  13. Logan (2017)
  14. Unbreakable (2000)
  15. Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)
  16. The Rocketeer (1991)
  17. The Batman (2022)
  18. X-Men (2000)
  19. Batman Begins (2005)
  20. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

It’s a list that leans heavily on Marvel and DC icons, with multiple appearances by Batman, Spider-Man, and the Avengers. But there’s also room for wild cards like The Rocketeer and Unbreakable — cult classics that helped shape the genre in subtler ways.

Of course, lists like these always stir up debate. (No love for “Iron Man”? Really?) But with the new Superman movie already earning a spot among the caped elite, it’s safe to say the hype is real.

And, do we think Fantastic Four: First Steps will land on this list? Pedro Pascal has to count for something.

Kermit the Frog Pays Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy Osbourne’s passing has inspired a wave of heartfelt tributes—but one of the most surprising came from a very green, very iconic friend: Kermit the Frog.

In a post on the official Muppets Facebook page, Kermit honored the Prince of Darkness with a sweet (and unexpectedly emotional) message:

“No one rocked harder than the great Ozzy Osbourne… Every time we bumped into Ozzy over the years, he made us feel just as cool as he was.”

Kermit went on to say that the Muppets felt lucky to have known and worked with Ozzy, calling him a friend and a musical legend. He even gave a nod to Ozzy’s duet with Miss Piggy on Born to Be Wild, from the hilariously underrated Kermit Unpigged album. Yes, that’s a real thing.

The Tributes Didn’t Stop with Felt and Googly Eyes

Lady Gaga wrapped up her Mayhem Ball show in San Francisco with her entire crew taking a final bow to the sound of Crazy Train.

Chris Martin of Coldplay worked Changes by Black Sabbath into his Nashville set . . .

And Wolfgang Van Halen’s band Mammoth honored Ozzy with a live performance of Mama, I’m Coming Home during a gig in Hartford.

Even Major League Baseball got in on the tribute train, digging up Ozzy’s wonderfully chaotic 2003 rendition of Take Me Out to the Ballgame, sung with Sharon at Wrigley Field. It wasn’t pitch-perfect—but it was peak Ozzy.

And over in Foxborough, the New England Patriots gave a public thanks to Ozzy for letting them use Crazy Train as their entrance theme. He even played it live for them in 2005.

From stadiums to stage lights—and even puppet theaters—Ozzy’s influence stretched far and wide. And in the wake of his loss, it’s clear just how many lives (and genres) he touched. Whether you were headbanging in a leather jacket or dancing in a frog costume, Ozzy Osbourne made you feel a little cooler just by being in the room.

Ozzy Osbourne, Rock Icon and Reality Star, Dies at 76

Ozzy Osbourne, the godfather of heavy metal and one of rock’s most unpredictable icons, has passed away at the age of 76.

Just last week, his daughter Kelly Osbourne denied rumors that he was dying. But on Tuesday morning, the sad news became official: Ozzy died surrounded by family. No cause of death has been released. A statement from the family said, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.”

Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary rock icon and Black Sabbath frontman, died on Tuesday, aged 76, after performing a farewell show in his hometown of Birmingham earlier this month. Over the course of his storied career, he brought home five Grammy Awards and was twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – once as a member of Black Sabbath, and again as a solo artist.

For millions of fans, Ozzy wasn’t just a music legend—he was a larger-than-life character who shaped decades of pop culture.

From fronting Black Sabbath to starring in a chaotic reality show, his career was anything but ordinary.

He got his start in Birmingham, England, as the lead singer of Black Sabbath, helping invent heavy metal in the early ‘70s. After being fired from the band in 1979, he launched a wildly successful solo career, producing hits like “Crazy Train” and “Mr. Crowley” while also redefining the role of a rock frontman.

His bizarre stunts—biting the head off a bat, snorting ants, and allegedly urinating on the Alamo while wearing his wife Sharon’s dress—only added to his myth.

Ozzy also became one of the most unlikely reality TV stars of the 2000s, thanks to MTV’s The Osbournes, which turned his entire family into household names and introduced a new generation to the Prince of Darkness.

Despite his hard-partying reputation, Ozzy remained shockingly resilient.

He survived decades of substance abuse and multiple health scares. In 2003, he was seriously injured in an ATV crash, and in 2019 he suffered another fall that aggravated previous injuries. He also batted Parkinson’s disease.

In a 2023 interview, Ozzy described the last few years as “five years of absolute hell.” Still, just this month, he delivered his final performance in Birmingham at the Back to the Beginning show, which raised $190 million for charity.

He sold over 100 million records and holds the rare distinction of being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice—first with Black Sabbath in 2006 and again as a solo artist in 2024.

Ozzy is survived by his wife Sharon, children Kelly, Jack, Aimee, and his children from a previous marriage: Jessica, Louis, and Elliot.

Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward all shared heartfelt tributes, with Iommi writing, “There won’t ever be another like him.”

Rest in peace, Ozzy. You truly were one of a kind.

Tina Turner’s $1,000 Wig Pulled After Going Viral for All the Wrong Reasons

A new Tina Turner wig just hit the internet—and flopped harder than a cover band trying to sing “Proud Mary” in the wrong key.

This week, an officially licensed Tina Turner wig was released to honor the late Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Designed by her longtime hairstylist Arthur Johns and made from human hair, the wig was supposed to be a tribute to Tina’s iconic teased-out ’80s look. Instead, it looked more like it belonged to Little Orphan Annie or Olivia Newton-John in Grease. And the price? A cool $1,000.

Almost immediately, fans slammed the design online for looking nothing like Tina’s signature hair. Instead of bold, wild volume, the wig served up soft, generic curls—more community theater than rock royalty.

One person joked it looked like it came with a free performance of Tomorrow. Another said it gave “Tell me about it, stud” energy… not exactly what you’d expect from a tribute to a music legend known for her ferocity.

Within hours of launch, Turner’s estate yanked the product from the site. That’s right: less than a day on the market before it was banished to the “what were we thinking?” corner of the internet.

Arthur Johns, however, is still standing by his work. He told the media, “Tina wore that hair. If you do your research, you’ll see that curl was very popular in the ’90s and through the early 2000s. What you don’t see is Tina onstage after 25 minutes, working that hair, throwing her body around and having that hair blow up and just become wild.”

Fair point, Arthur—but fans weren’t buying it. Literally or figuratively.

Kim Kardashian Had an Ego Crisis at Bezos Wedding Over Sydney Sweeney

Apparently, Kim Kardashian had a bit of a rough time at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s ultra-luxury wedding bash in Venice—and not because the hors d’oeuvres were off. According to sources, Kim was seriously thrown off after Sydney Sweeney stole the spotlight, leaving the reality star and business mogul feeling like yesterday’s headline.

Yep. Word is, Kim had what’s being called a full-on meltdown over all the attention Sydney was getting. While Kim’s used to being the moment, this time it wasn’t about her—and it hit hard. One insider said, “Kim won’t say it outright, but seeing Sydney get all the attention in Venice was a huge blow to her ego.”

Sydney’s star power at the event wasn’t exactly subtle. With her rising fame, youth, and social media dominance, she’s clearly on the “It Girl” trajectory that Kim once owned.

The source went on to say that Kim “left Venice feeling completely deflated” and described the experience as a “painful wake-up call.”

Now, to be fair, Kim still got plenty of attention. But, as the source put it, it wasn’t the same kind of attention—and that realization “totally knocked her confidence.” Oof.

To be clear, there’s no drama between Kim and Sydney. No feuds. No awkward bathroom confrontations (as far as we know). This isn’t a catfight—it’s more of a quiet existential crisis. The source insists that Kim isn’t blaming Sydney. It’s just that realizing she may not be the reigning queen of celebrity anymore apparently “triggered all her worst insecurities.”

If you’ve followed Kim’s career, you know she’s been the pop culture centerpiece for nearly two decades. But with Gen Z stars like Sydney climbing the Hollywood ladder—and fast—the torch may be passing whether Kim likes it or not.

So, while the Bezos wedding made headlines for its opulence, it sounds like it may also have marked a different kind of milestone: the moment Kim realized she’s not always going to be the main character. At least not without a little competition.

Jelly Roll Is Stepping Into the Ring at WWE SummerSlam

Country star Jelly Roll has been dropping pounds like a champ—but now he’s about to throw them around. The Grammy-nominated singer is officially headed to the WWE SummerSlam ring next month, and it’s not just a quick cameo. He’s set to tag-team against none other than Logan Paul.

Let that sink in for a second: Jelly Roll. In a WWE ring. Throwing punches.

It all started Friday night in Nashville during an episode of WWE SmackDown, where Jelly was on hand to kick things off with a live performance of his #1 hit, “Liar”. But before he could even finish the first verse, Logan Paul stormed in and stole the spotlight—classic Logan move.

Paul wasn’t exactly subtle. He told Jelly, “Everyone is here to see real WWE superstars… this ring is sacred… you belong on a stage, not a WWE ring.”

Then came the cherry on top: “I’m disgusted by celebrities leeching off our success in this industry.” Bold words from a guy who entered the WWE as a celebrity influencer.

To be fair, Logan’s proven himself inside the ropes. Since debuting in 2021, he’s been surprisingly good—athletic, committed, and occasionally even respected by fans. But to many diehards, he’s still an outsider. Which is why this feud has legs.

After the verbal sparring, WWE legend Randy Orton hit the scene to confront Paul. Then chaos broke out: Drew McIntyre ambushed Orton, Logan joined in, and Jelly Roll—yes, Jelly again—yanked Logan off Orton. Bad move. Logan retaliated by trashing Jelly’s music setup.

So now it’s official: At WWE SummerSlam on August 2nd and 3rd, we’ll see Jelly Roll and Randy Orton team up to take on Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre.

It’s part music-meets-mayhem, part revenge tour, and 100% made for viral moments.

Jelly Roll’s been on a transformative journey lately—shedding weight, topping charts, and now trading jabs with WWE’s most controversial star. Is he ready for the squared circle?

The 15 Greatest Sci-Fi Shows of All Time

If you’ve ever argued with a friend over whether “Star Trek” or “Doctor Who” reigns supreme, Entertainment Weekly just entered the chat.

The magazine dropped its ranking of the 30 best sci-fi TV shows ever, and they didn’t hold back. From time travel to robot rebellions, here’s their Top 15, loaded with genre-defining legends and a few bold picks that might just start some fights in the group chat.

1. The Twilight Zone (1959–1964)

Rod Serling’s eerie anthology still holds the crown. It’s the blueprint for twist endings, moral fables, and nightmares you didn’t know you had.

2. Battlestar Galactica (2003–2009)

Space politics, identity crises, and killer robots—what more could you want? The reboot nailed gritty sci-fi way before it was trendy.

3. Doctor Who (1963–present)

Sixty years of time-traveling chaos and still going strong. Whether you’re Team Tennant or rooting for the latest Doctor, it’s impossible to ignore the show’s impact.

4. Star Trek (1966–1969)

Boldly going where no show had gone before. The OG Trek sparked a whole universe and inspired generations of sci-fi fans (and real-life tech inventors).

5. Mystery Science Theater 3000 (1988–2022)

A show about watching bad movies with wisecracking robots? It’s meta before meta was cool, and it somehow still works.

6. Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987–1994)

Captain Picard sipping tea while saving the galaxy? Iconic. This series made Trek feel cerebral and fresh again.

7. The X-Files (1993–2002, 2016–2018)

Aliens, conspiracies, and one of TV’s all-time best duos. Mulder and Scully made being paranoid look cool.

8. Firefly (2002)

Short-lived but beloved. Firefly is the cult classic that launched a thousand fan petitions and taught us all to aim to misbehave.

9. Lost (2004–2010)

It started as a survival show and turned into a cosmic puzzle box. Love or hate the ending, it was must-see TV for six wild seasons.

10. Quantum Leap (1989–1993)

Time travel meets heartwarming drama. Sam Beckett’s leaps taught life lessons with every episode.

11. Black Mirror (2011–present)

Terrifying tech futures that feel way too possible. This anthology is today’s Twilight Zone—just with more social media anxiety.

12. Orphan Black (2013–2017)

Tatiana Maslany playing a dozen versions of herself? Yes, please. A masterclass in sci-fi storytelling and acting.

13. Severance (2023–present)

A fresh face on the list, but already a game-changer. Office life has never felt so dystopian—or weirdly addictive.

14. Person of Interest (2011–2016)

Surveillance, A.I., and ethics wrapped in a killer procedural. This one aged like fine futuristic wine.

15. Westworld (2016–2022)

Robots having existential crises in a Wild West theme park. It got complicated, sure—but the early seasons were lightning in a bottle.

The Fyre Festival Brand Is Now on eBay—And Yes, People Are Actually Bidding

Remember Fyre Festival? The luxury music festival that famously imploded in 2017 with FEMA tents, cheese sandwiches, and no bands in sight? Well, it’s back—in the form of an eBay listing.

Disgraced festival founder Billy McFarland, who served nearly four years in prison for fraud after the original event went up in flames (metaphorically), is now trying to offload what’s left of the Fyre brand. The intellectual property, trademarks, logos, and basically the entire flaming mess is up for auction to the highest bidder.

McFarland claimed earlier this year that he had a seven-figure deal to sell the Fyre brand. That deal, much like the festival itself, fell apart. So now he’s taken to eBay in hopes someone else will buy into the idea of turning Fyre into a media empire.

In a video posted to Instagram, McFarland pitches the brand as an “attention engine,” suggesting its name recognition could be used to launch new festivals, livestream events, merch collabs, or media ventures. It’s quite a pitch—especially considering how things went the first time.

Surprisingly, there’s real interest.

As of Tuesday night, there were 99 bids on the listing, with the price hovering around $200,000. That may not be the high-roller payday McFarland was hoping for, but the auction still has nearly a week left, and the Fyre name, despite (or because of) its infamy, still draws eyeballs.

McFarland has said before that he’s committed to rebuilding his image and repaying the $26 million he owes in restitution. He tried to drum up attention with promises of a “Fyre Festival II,” which was supposed to happen this year, but that idea fizzled out, too. So this latest move feels like one last Hail Mary—or maybe just a very on-brand fire sale.

Scarlett Johansson Becomes Hollywood’s Highest-Grossing Lead Actor of All Time

Scarlett Johansson has officially cemented her place in box office history, becoming the highest-grossing lead actor in Hollywood thanks to the monster debut of Jurassic World Rebirth. And yes, she’s now pulled ahead of not one, but two of her former Marvel co-stars in the process.

According to new box office figures, films starring Johansson—either as the lead or as part of a major ensemble—have now raked in a jaw-dropping $14.8 billion worldwide. That puts her just ahead of Samuel L. Jackson, whose movies total $14.6 billion, and Robert Downey Jr., who holds the third-place spot at $14.3 billion.

What makes Scarlett’s new record even more impressive is the fact she did it in far fewer films. Jackson’s haul came from 71 movies, Downey’s from 45, and Scarlett? Just 36. That’s some serious efficiency.

Of course, Johansson’s track record includes a massive chunk of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where she played Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow. But outside the superhero realm, she’s also turned heads in award-nominated roles (Marriage Story, Jojo Rabbit) and box office smashes like Lucy.

Meanwhile, her Jurassic World reboot appears to be the dino-sized hit Universal was hoping for, helping propel her over the top.

Now, before you go crying for the guys she leapfrogged, don’t. Samuel L. Jackson is still showing up in seemingly every other movie, and Robert Downey Jr. isn’t going anywhere—especially not with him rejoining the MCU in a surprising new role as Doctor Doom. (Yes, really.) As for Black Widow? Well… she’s canonically dead in the MCU. But clearly, Scarlett’s career is anything but.

Whether or not she’ll keep the crown for long remains to be seen, but for now, it’s ScarJo on top of the world—and Hollywood’s most profitable leading lady of all time.
