Erewhon Is Selling a Toothpaste Smoothie

If you’ve ever sipped a smoothie and thought, “Needs more toothpaste,” well, Erewhon has answered your oddly specific dreams.

The ultra-trendy Los Angeles grocery chain known for selling blueberries that cost more than a tank of gas is back in the spotlight with their latest bizarre-but-somehow-still-kind-of-intriguing creation: the Toothpaste Smoothie.

Officially named the Mint Condition Smile Smoothie, it’s available all November at Erewhon cafés and is turning heads for obvious reasons.

No, it doesn’t really have toothpaste in it

Despite the hype, it doesn’t really contain toothpaste (phew). Instead, it’s “inspired” by one – specifically, a flavor from the high-end dental brand Boka called Ela Mint.

What’s actually in it?

What’s in it, besides viral potential? The $11 drink blends together mint, banana, mango, coconut, and blue spirulina. So it tastes less like a dentist’s office and more like a tropical vacation with a polite burst of freshness. According to Boka’s marketing director, the idea “might sound unusual, but that’s what made it so fun to create.” Of course it did.

If you’re a member of Erewhon’s $100-a-year loyalty program, you can even try it for free. Which is either a great perk or an elaborate prank, depending on your taste in smoothies and sense of irony.

Tastes better than it sounds?

Social media reactions range from “Honestly looks kinda good?” to “LA has gone too far.” And maybe that’s the point. Erewhon’s whole brand is built on that tightrope between luxury wellness and low-key chaos. A smoothie that reminds you of brushing your teeth feels perfectly on-brand.

Would you try it? Or would you rather just drink a regular smoothie and, you know, brush your teeth like a normal person?

Either way, LA’s fanciest grocery store continues to prove one thing: in the right zip code, everything can be a lifestyle flex – even your breakfast beverage.

“Pumpkin Spice” Google Searches Hit an All-Time High

Pumpkin spice is no longer just a flavor, it’s a full-blown personality – and apparently, it’s got rizz.

Google Trends revealed that searches for “pumpkin spice” hit an all-time high in 2025. That’s right. Not in 2015. Not when the PSL first dropped over 20 years ago. Now. This stuff is somehow still getting more popular. Or, we’ve at least got more reasons to google it.

The PSL hype always ramps up in September, but people aren’t just looking for coffee anymore. In the pumpkin-spice-packed world we now find ourselves in, it’s like a full-blown pumpkin spice treasure hunt.

Google says “pumpkin spice near me” hit an all-time high in 2025, with Florida and New Mexico leading the charge on that one. Makes sense if you think about it. No fall foliage? No problem. Just drown everything in cinnamon-nutmeg fog.

Google also looked at the top trending pumpkin spice products people have been searching for ahead of fall, and you need none of these. But if you want all of them, you’re far from alone.

Top Five Pumpkin Spice Products

  1. Pumpkin spice floor cleaner. So even the soles of your shoes can smell like it.
  2. Pumpkin spice toilet paper. Hopefully, houseguests won’t have to google “pumpkin spice allergy a**hole.”
  3. Pumpkin spice trash bags. Is it acceptable to eat garbage when it smells this good?
  4. Pumpkin spice lotion. You want your whole body to smell like a Starbucks in late Autumn? That’s your business.
  5. Pumpkin spice brooms. Do you really need to sweep and mop with the stuff?

Top Five Pumpkin Spice Fashion Items

  1. Pumpkin spice pajamas. Just imagine how autumnal your night terrors will be.
  2. Pumpkin spice sweatshirts. You love it so much, and the world needs to know.
  3. Pumpkin spice shirts. So you can still broadcast that PSL love come springtime.
  4. Pumpkin spice purses. You’ve officially hit “PSL is my identity” territory.
  5. Pumpkin spice underwear. Hey… you do you.

The fun thing about that last one is you’re really shopping for one of three things: skivvies that say “PSL,” smell like a PSL, or taste like a PSL – are we talkin’ edible pumpkin spice underwear? (You know you’re ride or die when you’ve incorporated pumpkin spice into your lovemaking.)

At this point, I’m not sure where we go next. Pumpkin spice inhalers? Pumpkin spice pepper spray? Will Pep Boys finally offer that PSL brake fluid we’ve been asking for?

It’s Official: Coffee Isn’t Optional

If you can’t think straight before your first cup of coffee, you’re not alone. And now a report has confirmed it: coffee isn’t optional.

Coffee is the #1 beverage Americans “can’t live without.”

In its first-ever State of Beverages report, Keurig Dr Pepper (yes, the company behind your morning and afternoon caffeine fixes) surveyed Americans to find out which drinks they love the most, and which ones they need the most.

Unsurprisingly, coffee reigns supreme when it comes to daily survival. It topped the list of the drinks people “can’t live without.”

Coffee is our “happy place.”

According to the report, 62% of Americans agree with the statement, “My day doesn’t start until I’ve had a cup of coffee,” and 69% call their morning coffee their “happy place.”

In other words, coffee isn’t just a drink, it’s therapy in a mug.

Coffee isn’t our “favorite” drink though.

Plot twist! While coffee might power our mornings (and sometimes our afternoons), it’s not actually our favorite beverage when it comes to taste.

That title goes to soda! (If you’re from the Midwest, that’s “pop.” If you’re from the South, we mean “Coke,” but not the brand.)

53% of Americans say carbonated soft drinks are their favorite beverage based solely on taste. So while coffee is the MVP of mornings, soda takes the crown when it comes to pure enjoyment.

The data also reflects how different drinks serve different purposes in our lives. Coffee is how we survive Monday mornings, back-to-back meetings, and groggy commutes. Soda is for backyard barbecues, movie nights, and let’s be real, any meal that just tastes better with some carbonation.

Coffee vs. Breakfast vs. Booze

The report has plenty of other fun stats too. We poured through it so you didn’t have to. Here are the highlights…

  • 59% would rather skip breakfast than skip their morning cup of joe, while 41% would rather chow down and drink something else.
  • 73% of people 21+ would rather quit drinking alcohol than quit drinking coffee.
  • Late night coffee? Los Angeles does it the most. Dallas, Atlanta, and Boston don’t want it to keep them up at night.
  • 65% customize their beverage in some way. 52% add sugar or sweeteners, 51% add creamer or milk, and 44% add flavor syrups (especially when ordering at chains like Starbucks).
  • 58% find soda the most “refreshing” beverage out there.
  • 74% of Gen Z’ers use social media to learn about new beverage trends.
  • 56% of Americans say they’ve cut back on alcohol for “wellness or lifestyle” reasons, and 58% now prefer non-alcoholic drinks when hanging out with friends.
