Jelly Roll Is Stepping Into the Ring at WWE SummerSlam

Country star Jelly Roll has been dropping pounds like a champ—but now he’s about to throw them around. The Grammy-nominated singer is officially headed to the WWE SummerSlam ring next month, and it’s not just a quick cameo. He’s set to tag-team against none other than Logan Paul.

Let that sink in for a second: Jelly Roll. In a WWE ring. Throwing punches.

It all started Friday night in Nashville during an episode of WWE SmackDown, where Jelly was on hand to kick things off with a live performance of his #1 hit, “Liar”. But before he could even finish the first verse, Logan Paul stormed in and stole the spotlight—classic Logan move.

Paul wasn’t exactly subtle. He told Jelly, “Everyone is here to see real WWE superstars… this ring is sacred… you belong on a stage, not a WWE ring.”

Then came the cherry on top: “I’m disgusted by celebrities leeching off our success in this industry.” Bold words from a guy who entered the WWE as a celebrity influencer.

To be fair, Logan’s proven himself inside the ropes. Since debuting in 2021, he’s been surprisingly good—athletic, committed, and occasionally even respected by fans. But to many diehards, he’s still an outsider. Which is why this feud has legs.

After the verbal sparring, WWE legend Randy Orton hit the scene to confront Paul. Then chaos broke out: Drew McIntyre ambushed Orton, Logan joined in, and Jelly Roll—yes, Jelly again—yanked Logan off Orton. Bad move. Logan retaliated by trashing Jelly’s music setup.

So now it’s official: At WWE SummerSlam on August 2nd and 3rd, we’ll see Jelly Roll and Randy Orton team up to take on Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre.

It’s part music-meets-mayhem, part revenge tour, and 100% made for viral moments.

Jelly Roll’s been on a transformative journey lately—shedding weight, topping charts, and now trading jabs with WWE’s most controversial star. Is he ready for the squared circle?

Joey Chestnut Wins Again, Gets Another Epic Hot Dog Intro

I never watch the puke-inducing Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest. The competition itself is the grossest 10 minutes of wiener-related content on the internet… and that’s saying something.

But without fail, competitive eating legend Joey Chestnut’s intro is must-watch TV and was an unmatched level of epic once again this year. Who in their right mind starts a monologue about hot dogs with this line?

We are humbled by age in preparation for the great insult of death. But there are those who stand immortal.

@espn

Chestnut – who according to his 2025 intro was “formed from the shards of shattered angels” – returned after a year off to once again dominate the competition, horking down an insane 70.5 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. That’s one dog every 8.45 seconds! 🤮 (2nd place was 46.5 hot dogs. #pathetic)

But again, I choose not to focus on the absurdity of eating nearly six dozen hot dogs in 600 seconds, and instead honor the absurd level of drama that consummate hype-man and Major League Eating co-founder George Shea brings to the event each year.

George delivered these words about Chestnut in 2019 but deserves to have them echoed about himself:

He is the silent warrior who stands where land meets horizon, steadfast and unshakable, a city on a hill lit for all to see. A poem, written using every word of every language of every country in the world. He is a bead of light floating in the dark oil of night. For he is the very vessel of our freedom – the champion of the 4th of July.

Thanks for the irrational level of drama, George. We’re here for it.

Move Over, Dick Butkus — There’s a New MVP of NSFW Sports Names

Baseball just got a whole lot more memorable, thanks to the New York Mets and their newest addition to the bullpen: Dickey Lovelady.

Yes, that is his real name. And yes, Mets fans are already obsessed.

Technically, the left-handed reliever goes by Richard Lovelady, and that’s what you’ll see on his baseball card, and probably in the stat sheets. But according to a Mets beat reporter, he prefers to be called “Dickey” — especially if you run into him at the stadium or on the street. And the internet is having an absolute field day.

One fan joked that “Dickey Lovelady sounds like it’s straight out of a Seinfeld episode,” while another swore he had to be an “Austin Powers character.”

It’s the kind of name that would get rejected from a video game for being too suggestive. But in real life? It’s pitching for the Mets.

To be fair, Dick Butkus — the legendary Chicago Bears linebacker — has long held the title of “Most Inappropriate Sports Name That’s Actually Real.” But in 2025, it might finally be time to pass the torch. Or the glove.

Lovelady’s been bouncing around the minors for a few years, including a stint with the Minnesota Twins organization. Now, he’s landed in New York, where fans don’t always have a ton to celebrate. But even in a preseason without much hope, they’re taking this win.

Of course, if you were hoping to slide into DMs, you’re out of luck. The man is married and has a kid. Sorry, folks — this Lovelady’s already spoken for.

The 10 Most Valuable Team Sales in U.S. Sports History

If you thought sports team prices were already out of control, buckle up, because the Los Angeles Lakers just sold for a jaw-dropping $10 billion, making it the most expensive team sale in U.S. history. That’s billion with a B.

This historic deal knocks the Boston Celtics out of the top spot and cements the Lakers’ legacy not just on the court, but also in the boardroom. For sports fans, business junkies, and anyone who’s ever wondered how much a franchise is actually worth, here’s how the all-time leaderboard shakes out now:

Top 10 Most Expensive Sports Team Sales in U.S. History:

  1. Los Angeles Lakers – $10 billion
  2. Boston Celtics – $6.1 billion
  3. Washington Commanders – $6.05 billion
  4. Denver Broncos – $4.65 billion
  5. Phoenix Suns – $4 billion
  6. Dallas Mavericks – $3.5 billion
  7. Charlotte Hornets – $3 billion
  8. New York Mets – $2.4 billion
  9. Brooklyn Nets – $2.35 billion
  10. Carolina Panthers – $2.275 billion

Just let this sink in: In less than two decades, the ceiling for team sales has more than quadrupled. A big chunk of the boom can be credited to media rights, streaming deals, global merchandising, and a whole lot of billionaire FOMO.

Interestingly, this list is a mix of teams across the NBA, NFL, MLB, and even some surprising names (hello, Charlotte Hornets?). Basketball franchises seem to dominate the top spots now, which is a shift from past decades when NFL teams led the charge.

The Lakers, with their worldwide fan base, celebrity allure, and rich championship history, were always expected to go big, but $10 billion big? That’s next-level. And with franchise values continuing to soar, it might not be long before another team makes a run at that record.

Until then, the purple and gold sit on top of yet another mountain.

Which MLB Mascot Is the Hottest?

Just in time for the 2025 MLB season, the sports betting site BetUS decided to stir up a spicy conversation that no one saw coming: Which Major League Baseball mascot is the hottest?

Yes, you read that right.  Using a mix of metrics—including personality, Google search interest, social media following, and even the so-called “golden ratio” for physical proportions—BetUS compiled a ranking of the 15 “hottest” mascots in Major League Baseball.  The results?  Equal parts hilarious and unsettling.

Topping the list is D. Baxter the Bobcat, the Arizona Diamondbacks’ desert-dwelling mascot.

He evidently has the right combination of charisma and cartoon symmetry to claim the crown.

Coming in second is the legendary Phillie Phanatic.

His chaotic energy and fuzzy green physique have made him a fan favorite—and now, apparently, a sex symbol?

The top five round out with Clark the Cub from Chicago, Rosie Red of the Cincinnati Reds, and Mrs. Met, who out-ranked her better-known baseball-headed husband, Mr. Met. (He still made the list at #7.)

Here’s the Top 15:

  1. D. Baxter (Arizona Diamondbacks). It’s true, look at him- He’s jacked.
  2. Phillie Phanatic (Philadelphia Phillies)
  3. Clark the Cub (Chicago Cubs)
  4. Rosie Red (Cincinnati Reds)
  5. Mrs. Met (New York Mets)
  6. Billy the Marlin (Miami Marlins)
  7. Mr. Met (New York Mets)
  8. Raymond (Tampa Bay Rays)
  9. Orbit (Houston Astros)
  10. Oriole Bird (Baltimore Orioles)
  11. Blooper (Atlanta Braves)
  12. Fredbird (St. Louis Cardinals)
  13. PAWS (Detroit Tigers)
  14. Slider (Cleveland Guardians)
  15. Rangers Captain (Texas Rangers)

If you’re wondering why you don’t see the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Los Angeles Angels, or the New York Yankees on here, it’s because those teams don’t have official mascots.  In retrospect, maybe they just didn’t want to be objectified???

Terry Bradshaw Has No Interest in Aaron Rodgers Joining the Steelers

As rumors swirl about Aaron Rodgers possibly landing in Pittsburgh, one of the Steelers’ most iconic players is making his stance crystal clear: absolutely not.

Terry Bradshaw, four-time Super Bowl champ and long-time face of the Steelers franchise, is not mincing words about the idea of Rodgers wearing black and gold. “That’s a joke. That is, just to me, is a joke,”

Bradshaw said in a recent interview, when asked about the potential move. “What are you going to do? Bring him in for one year? Are you kidding me?”

But it didn’t stop there. Bradshaw, never known for holding back, then veered into the kind of personal critique that only he can deliver. “That guy needs to stay in California,” he said. “Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there.”

Then Bradshaw made it even more personal, admitting he’s not exactly a fan of Rodgers off the field either. “You get in his presence and you feel like it’s gonna start snowin’,” he said—painting Rodgers as cold or maybe just aloof.

Despite Bradshaw’s harsh words, there’s still significant chatter linking Rodgers to Pittsburgh.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport recently said it would be a “surprise” if Rodgers doesn’t end up signing with the Steelers.

So while fans debate whether Rodgers could be the missing piece to elevate Pittsburgh’s offense, one thing’s for sure: if he does sign, he won’t be getting a warm welcome from at least one Steelers legend.

Racing Boat Goes Airborne in Dramatic 200 MPH Crash

What was meant to be a high-speed record attempt at the Desert Storm Shootout in Lake Havasu City turned into a heart-stopping moment on Saturday, when a racing boat – going nearly 200 mph – lost control mid-run, went airborne, and flipped multiple times before crashing back into the water.

The high-performance catamaran, Freedom One, was gunning for a new speed record when strong wind gusts—clocked at around 30 mph—lifted the vessel into the air. Video footage shows the nose of the boat tilting up before the entire craft somersaulted violently and crashed with tremendous force.

Ray Lee, publisher of Speedboat Magazine, was watching from the sidelines.

“They started out really well, nothing out of the ordinary,” he said. “Then it was about halfway, three-quarters of the way down the course when we saw the nose start to lift.”

The accident occurred on a closed and highly monitored course, with safety personnel and rescue divers already in place. Within 20 seconds of the crash, divers were in the water. Two people were onboard at the time of the incident. Miraculously, both survived—thanks in large part to their safety gear.

According to Freedom One Racing tech Ryan Olah, the boat’s design prioritized performance and safety. “We built this boat to be a record breaker pretty much everywhere we go,” Olah said. The Missouri-based team traveled to Arizona to compete in the Desert Storm Shootout, an annual speed competition where boats race solo through a radar-monitored, three-quarter-mile course.

Despite the spectacular nature of the crash, both occupants escaped with relatively minor injuries.

One suffered a broken collarbone and bruised ribs, the other a semi-fractured knee. “They’ve been in great spirits, joking around, a little bit sore and banged up,” Olah said. “The boat can be fixed—it’s just parts and time. We’re just glad nobody had any major injuries.”

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that no further investigation will take place, as the crash occurred during a sanctioned event on a closed course with emergency responders already in place.

As for Freedom One, the boat may be down for repairs, but the spirit of the team remains unshaken.

Marathon Runner Helps Competitor Over Finish Line

In a moment that’s resonating far beyond the finish line, a runner at the Boston Marathon is being praised for putting compassion ahead of competition — and it’s all caught on video.

Brazilian runner Pedro Arieta was just seconds away from completing the marathon when he spotted another runner collapse just before the finish. Rather than pushing forward to beat his personal goal of 2 hours and 40 minutes, Pedro stopped, turned back, and helped the fallen runner to their feet.

Together, they crossed the finish line.

Pedro ended up finishing the race in 2 hours and 41 minutes — just one minute off his target time — but says he has zero regrets.

And after seeing the viral footage, it’s clear most people agree he came out a winner in a much bigger way.

“That’s what the marathon is about,” one commenter wrote. “Not just running, but community, heart, and humanity.”

The video, now circulating widely on social media, shows the emotional moment as Pedro lifts the runner and guides them to the line, with cheers erupting from the crowd. It’s the kind of gesture that reminds people why sports — especially endurance races like the Boston Marathon — mean so much more than numbers on a clock.

Pedro’s story is already inspiring runners and non-runners alike, with many praising his selflessness and sportsmanship. One user summed it up best: “He may have missed his goal, but he showed the world what a true champion looks like.”
