Breaking News: Scottie Scheffler Is Good at Golf
We’re going out on a limb with this one and saying on record that Scottie Scheffler (the #1 ranked player in the world since 2023) is pretty good at golf.
Check out the fairly decent chip shot he came up with for a birdie on 17 at the BMW Championship in Owings Mills, Maryland. He went on to par the 18th hole and win the tournament by two strokes.
You heard it here first, folks. We feel confident saying Scottie Scheffler is at least not terrible at golf. Now he just needs to rack up 28 more wins – and 6 majors – in the next 10 months to match Tiger’s pace by age 30. 👀
Of note: Scottie also trails Tiger 3 to 1 in unflattering car-related incidents.
Tiger had his 2021 car crash, his 2017 DUI, and his wife Elin smashed up his Escalade with a 9-iron after she caught him cheating on her with ~10,000 women in 2009.
Scottie has so far only had the one arrest in 2024, when he drove around a police barricade at the PGA Championship in Louisville, KY, and allegedly dragged a cop down the street with his car. Those charges were later dropped, so he obviously still has much to learn about what the word “champion” means.
Ash-Spreading Ceremony Interrupted by Constipation Ad
Spreading a loved one’s ashes is usually a deeply emotional, solemn moment. But for one family near Seattle, their heartfelt goodbye turned into something else entirely thanks to a poorly timed Spotify ad and one extremely unfortunate sound effect.
They gathered on a boat in the Puget Sound in mid-July to honor someone they’d lost and say farewell, and they queued up a touching soundtrack for the moment – Frank Sinatra’s soaring version of “The Impossible Dream.” And that’s where things took a sharp turn.
They had the free version of Spotify
The touching moment was ruined – or depending on your perspective, improved – because the person playing the song didn’t have the ad-free version.
Just as the final note faded out and everyone was no doubt holding back tears, an ad kicked in. And not just any ad.
Cut the fart SFX!
The ad was for some sort of constipation remedy and opened with a loud, prolonged fart sound. Because nothing says rest in peace like a digital toot echoing across the water.
What followed the fart wasn’t any better. The first spoken line of the ad was “This is the quickest way to clear out stuck poop.” 💩(Whoever wrote that ad copy is one classy individual.)
They had a great sense of humor about it
Everyone on board burst into laughter, and the guy who filmed it joked later that his mom “really needs to subscribe to Spotify Premium.”
The fact that they weren’t devastated makes the whole thing strangely beautiful in its own way. A serious ceremony with a totally unserious interruption – and a reminder that even in grief, laughter can still find its way in.
The natural question from people on social media is whose ashes were they – and would they find it funny? If so, maybe it was their parting gift.

Wendy’s Went Full Goth for Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’—I Waited in Line Five Hours for It
Yes, you read that right. I waited in line five-and-a-half hours for Wendy’s, but it wasn’t an ordinary Wendy’s. It was Wednesday’s.
For one day only – a Thursday for some reason 🤷♀️ – a location in Norwalk, California was transformed into a Wednesday Addams-themed spookfest to celebrate Season 2 of Netflix’s “Wednesday.”
“The Meal of Misfortune”
It was a themed drive-thru experience, and I got to try the new “Meal of Misfortune” a few days earlier than the rest of America.
The meal includes “Rest in 10-Piece Nuggets,” “Cursed & Crispy Fries,” a “Raven’s Blood Frosty” (vanilla with a dark-cherry swirl), and two mysteriously spicy “Dips of Dread.” There’s a total of four different sauces you can get. Oh, and they’re different shades of purple, too.
The Raven’s Blood Frosty is great!
The Frosty was probably my favorite part. It includes a purple spoon that has a handle with a raven and skull. Since it was a special event, I also received a collectible pin at the start of the experience.
Not your normal drive-thru experience
Once I ordered my meal, I drove through the foggy “Nevermore Academy” gates and into different rooms inspired by the show. At the end, a worker got your order by opening a morgue door.
You can try it too… without waiting five hours.
Wendy’s announced the “Meal of Misfortune” would be available nationwide starting Monday, August 4th, just in time for the new season of “Wednesday” premiering August 6th.

Miranda Lambert’s Butt Is Going Viral
Miranda Lambert’s got fans talking (and zooming) after a clip from her recent performance with Morgan Wallen in Seattle made its way to TikTok—for reasons that had nothing to do with her vocals.
While opening the show, Lambert rocked a short skirt on a high stage… and gave front-row fans a little more than they bargained for. A fan caught the moment on video, zoomed in on the accidental (or intentional?) butt-baring angle, and posted it online. You can guess what happened next: it blew up.
TikTok’s comment section did not disappoint:
- “Now we know why the front row is so expensive.”
- “I didn’t realize what a big Miranda Lambert fan I was until now.”
- “Someone start a GoFundMe for the cameraman so we can tip him for this masterpiece.”
- “You are an asset to this community.”
- “She’s being cheeky. Lol.”
While the moment happened during her performance of “Bluebird,” let’s just say viewers weren’t exactly focused on the lyrics.
So what’s the verdict: Was it a wardrobe slip? Or a well-timed viral moment? Fans are divided, but no one’s complaining.
Whether it was intentional or just an accidental reveal, one thing’s for sure—Miranda knows how to work a stage. And now, she might be working her way into a few more TikTok algorithms too.

Willem Dafoe Used to Be “Willem DaFINE”
Turns out Willem Dafoe wasn’t always playing intense villains and tortured geniuses . . . he was once just a ridiculously handsome theater kid in the 1970s. And now, thanks to the internet doing what it does best (digging up forgotten footage and turning it into a thirst trap), a decades-old clip of young Dafoe is blowing people’s minds.
In the viral video, the Oscar-nominated actor is around 20 years old, performing in a stage production from 1975. And let’s just say the internet did a double take.
Fans have taken to calling him “Willem DaFINE,” because apparently none of us were prepared for this level of retro heartthrob energy.
One viewer summed it up perfectly: “Wow, I’ve never seen him young.” Another chimed in with, “He has the swagger and confidence of a man who knows he’s blessed by the gods.” And of course, there’s always one person who just keeps it simple: “Oh God, he’s just my type help.”
The resurfaced clip has also surprised fans by revealing that Dafoe used to pronounce his name “William DAY-foe”.
Born July 22nd, 1955, Dafoe turns 70 this month, and yet somehow, this old footage has managed to launch a whole new wave of fandom. It’s like discovering your favorite grizzled movie villain used to look like he belonged on the cover of a vintage romance novel.
Dafoe has always had a bit of a cult following, but this new burst of attention is giving younger fans a chance to appreciate the man behind roles like the Green Goblin, Vincent van Gogh, and literally anything where his face does 80% of the acting.
And if you didn’t think “young Willem Dafoe” would ever be trending, well . . . the internet is here to surprise you again.
Searches for the clip have been popping off on platforms like Reddit and BuzzFeed, with users marveling not just at his looks but at his magnetic stage presence even as a college-age actor. So yes, Willem Dafoe has always been THAT guy, and now, we have the receipts.

News Chopper Guy Rants About Failed Marriage, Bourbon
Fox 11 helicopter reporter Stu Mendel used his livestream chat like a personal therapy session this weekend while covering the protests in L.A., describing some of the “debacles” he’s had with his personal life. “”I just had a bunch of debacles with my personal life. “Do I get lonely? Of course! But I got cats.” Thanks for (over)sharing, Stu! 👀
He also channeled Ron Burgundy with this line: “I love bourbon. I do. I do love the bourbon. Love the whiskey, love the bourbon, love the gin. Do love the gin.”
Here’s the full livestream:
